Role Summary

We are seeking a seasoned procurement professional to manage and streamline purchasing operations at our Luna Plant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing and procurement across multiple categories—Consumables, Capex, Opex, Raw Materials, Services, and Engineering Spares—ensuring timely availability, cost efficiency, and compliance with pharmaceutical standards.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Procurement

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for all categories: consumables, capex, opex, raw materials, services, and engineering spares.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard qualified vendors; negotiate contracts and pricing to optimize value.

Category-Specific Sourcing

  • Consumables:

    Procure lab supplies, PPE, cleaning agents, and other operational items.
  • Capex:

    Manage purchases of machinery, equipment, and infrastructure upgrades in coordination with engineering and finance.
  • Opex:

    Handle recurring operational expenses including utilities, AMC contracts, and facility services.
  • Raw Materials:

    Source APIs, excipients, solvents, and packaging materials in compliance with GMP and regulatory norms.
  • Services:

    Engage third-party vendors for calibration, logistics, maintenance, and manpower services; monitor SLA adherence.
  • Engineering Spares:

    Procure mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation spares; maintain optimal inventory levels.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure procurement activities align with internal SOPs, GMP, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, vendor agreements, and audit documentation.

Cost Management & Optimization

  • Monitor market trends and price fluctuations to inform budgeting and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Implement vendor performance tracking and continuous improvement programs.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with QA/QC, Production, Engineering, and Finance teams to ensure procurement supports plant operations.
  • Resolve material-related issues and ensure timely availability of critical supplies.

Candidate Profile

  • Graduate in Science, Engineering, or Commerce; MBA/PG Diploma in Materials Management preferred.
  • 8–10 years of experience in pharmaceutical procurement across diverse categories.
  • Strong knowledge of pharma-grade materials, engineering components, and service contracts.
  • Proficient in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and MS Office.
  • Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with GMP, FDA, and other regulatory requirements.
