We are hiring for the role of Senior Production Engineer

Location - Peenya, Bangalore

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed production schedules aligned with project timelines and resource capacity.
• Break down projects into task-level plans with daily/weekly targets.
• Monitor WIP closely and take corrective actions to avoid delays.
• Ensure manpower, machines, tools, and fixtures are planned.
• Coordinate with procurement and vendors for timely availability of materials, fabricated parts, and bought-out components.
• Create and implement SOPs for fabrication, machining, assembly, inspection, and testing.
• Standardize processes to reduce rework, deviations, and cycle time.
• Introduce and maintain 5S, Kaizen, workflow optimization, and lean practices on the shop floor.
• Ensure that QC checkpoints are followed, NCRs are closed with corrective actions, and preventive measures are in place.
• Lead teams of welders, fitters, and assembly technicians on daily activities.
• Provide clear work instructions, technical guidance, and training to improve skill levels.
• Conduct meetings and ensure technicians follow safety, quality, and process guidelines.
• Review workmanship regularly and intervene early to correct errors.
• Work with external vendors for outsourced fabrication, machining, laser cutting, and finishing processes.
• Share drawings, technical requirements, and quality expectations clearly with vendors.
• Monitor vendor production status, follow up on timelines, and resolve technical or material-related clarifications.
• Conduct or support vendor for quality inspections and ensure rejected items are reworked or replaced.
• Build long-term vendor relationships that support quality and delivery performance.
• Coordinate with design, planning, QC, procurement, and installation teams for smooth project execution.
• Provide regular production updates, highlight risks early, and propose mitigation plans.
• Support installation and commissioning at customer sites when required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of production experience in SPMs, machinery, fabrication, or project-based manufacturing.
• Strong skills in production planning, workflow structuring, and process implementation.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (2D & 3D).
• Deep understanding of machining, fabrication, welding, and mechanical assembly processes.
• Strong leadership and people management experience with technicians and shop-floor teams.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience in 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives is preferred.
