Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct full eye examinations including refraction, slit-lamp, IOP, biometry, OCT, perimetry, and other diagnostic tests.
  • Assist in pre- and post-operative work-ups for cataract and other surgeries.
  • Provide clear patient education and counselling on spectacles, contact lenses, drops, and surgery preparation.
  • Identify urgent cases and escalate to ophthalmologists.
  • Maintain accurate EMR documentation.
  • Mentor and guide junior optometrists and interns.
  • Ensure hygiene, safety, and daily equipment checks.
  • Support hospital outreach camps and community eye care programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Optometry (B.Optom); Master’s preferred.
  • 5+ years of clinical experience in a hospital/eye care setup.
  • Strong skills in refraction, diagnostics, and patient communication.
  • Fluency in Malayalam and English.
  • Team player with leadership qualities.
