Job Description: Senior MS SQL Database Administrator / Developer Location: Pune Experience: 5 to 6 years About the Role: We are looking for a Senior MS SQL Database Administrator/Developer to manage and support the backend databases for key internal applications used by employees, dealers, and marketing representatives. The role involves ensuring database performance, security, availability, and supporting complex reporting and data integration needs. Key Responsibilities: Manage and optimize MS SQL Server databases supporting internal and external applications. Design, develop, and maintain complex stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views. Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies. Support data integration between various catalog and information database modules. Implement and maintain security policies for roles and permissions related to employees, dealers, marketing representatives, and external visitors. Assist in data migration and transition activities, especially related to quote creation system changes. Develop and maintain reporting solutions for dashboards covering inventory, orders, customers, services, and sales. Collaborate with .NET developers and business analysts to understand data requirements and provide database solutions. Ensure database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans are in place and tested. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in production and development environments. Document database design, procedures, and operational processes. Required Skills & Qualifications: 5 to 6 years of experience with MS SQL Server administration and development. Strong skills in T-SQL, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning. Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or other BI/reporting tools. Knowledge of database security best practices including role-based access control. Experience with database backup and recovery strategies. Familiarity with ETL processes and tools is a plus. Understanding of application data flow and integration points. Ability to work collaboratively with development teams and business stakeholders. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong documentation and communication skills.
