The Senior Mechanical Engineer I holds the responsibility for designing and re-designing specific Hardware components, developing new products, enhancing existing products, and supporting manufacturing operations. Reporting to the Head of Life Cycle Management & Group Manager, this role is an integral part of the R&D Hardware/Systems Development team based in Bengaluru - BDC and requires on-site presence. Key responsibilities of this role include: - Designing and innovating mechanical solutions to enhance performance, safety, reliability, throughput, and cost-effectiveness in Design Change Projects. - Leading change initiatives and independently managing the Design change process. - Handling multiple projects efficiently with meticulous project planning and minimal supervision. - Conducting root cause analysis and implementing necessary corrective measures. - Collaborating with cross-functional teams to address manufacturing and field issues, conducting feasibility studies, risk assessments, design reviews, and validating designs through analysis and testing. Essential job requirements comprise: - A Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, along with 5 years of experience in mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes. - Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software and simulation tools. - Creation and maintenance of detailed engineering documentation, encompassing CAD models, drawings, specifications, and test plans. - Knowledge of dFMEA/pFMEA, DFX, Tolerance Stack-up Analysis, and GD&T. - Basic understanding of metals, materials, their applications in mechanical parts fabrication, rapid prototyping, and testing. Additional advantageous qualifications include: - Previous experience with medical device regulations (FDA, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 60601). - Involvement in IVD instrumentation, including clinical chemistry, immunoassay, hematology, urinalysis, molecular, microbiology, or flow cytometry systems. - Advanced certification in CAD tools. - Familiarity with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles. - Prior exposure to Electro-Mechanical products, Robotics, and Automation.
