Senior Manager/Manager - Heat Treatment - Production Side

Role Overview: You have been presented with an exciting opportunity to join as a Sr. Manager / Manager in the Heat Treatment department on the production side of an esteemed automobile company based in Chennai. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing heat treatment operations, managing furnace and equipment, driving process excellence, ensuring quality and compliance, leading a team of production professionals, and contributing to production planning and coordination. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee day-to-day production activities related to heat treatment processes. - Ensure optimal utilization of furnaces and equipment while adhering to production schedules. - Plan, execute, and monitor heat treatment operations including carburizing, carbonitriding, induction hardening, tempering, annealing, and shot blasting. - Manage various types of heat treatment furnaces such as batch, continuous, and induction furnaces. - Implement process improvements to enhance furnace efficiency and productivity. - Drive process stability and control in special processes like carburizing, carbonitriding, and induction hardening. - Utilize metallurgical expertise to analyze results, troubleshoot issues, and develop new heat treatment processes. - Ensure all production processes comply with safety, environmental, and statutory regulations. - Lead, mentor, and manage a team of production engineers, supervisors, and operators. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams for production planning and coordination. - Implement Lean Manufacturing practices, Six Sigma methodologies, and drive innovation in heat treatment processes. Qualification Required: - 10 to 20 years of progressive experience in heat treatment production, preferably in the automobile or auto component industry. - Hands-on exposure to managing furnaces and special processes. - Educational Qualification: Any Graduate (Degree in Metallurgical/Mechanical Engineering preferred but not mandatory).
