Senior Manager-Policy & Regulatory

As a Regulatory Support Consultant at Mercados, your role will involve providing comprehensive support in handling day-to-day and routine regulatory matters related to regulatory bodies and authorities such as UPERC, CERC, MOP, MNRE, CEA, and GoUP. Key Responsibilities: - Submitting comments on Capital Cost Petitions and assisting in preparing detailed reports on agreed capital costs for power plants. - Preparing and submitting comments on petitions regarding tariff determination and true-up processes. - Participating in public hearings on tariff determination, MYT plans, and true-ups, representing consultant's viewpoints effectively. - Providing insights on PPAs, Supplementary PPAs, and FSAs. - Developing competitive bidding documents for power procurement and evaluating bids. - Creating Power Procurement Plans for ARR and MYT petitions. - Analyzing RPO compliance for UPPCL. - Negotiating PPAs for conventional and renewable power projects. - Ensuring compliance with DBST methodology and managing the MoD stack. - Validating data prepared by the planning wing for regulatory filings. Qualifications: - Strong experience in obtaining approvals for PPAs, Supplementary PPAs, and FSAs. - Proficiency in preparing competitive bidding documents and evaluating bids. - Ability to handle regulatory and commercial activities related to power procurement. Education and Experience: - Over 10 years of relevant work experience, preferably in Management Consulting. - BE/B. Tech and MBA qualifications.
