As an experienced and collaborative engineering leader at Foodhub, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the Order & Transaction Platform and API ecosystems. At Foodhub, the Order & Transaction Platform is the heart of the service, processing millions of daily requests with reliability, speed, and financial integrity. The core platform is continuously being enhanced with cloud-native principles, event-driven capabilities, and AI-ready features to support global growth. **Key Responsibilities:** - Architect systems for financial accuracy and auditability using patterns like CQRS, event sourcing, and ledger-based models. - Cultivate a modern API ecosystem (REST, GraphQL, gRPC) and establish best practices for schema governance and backward compatibility. - Orchestrate real-time data and event streams crucial for fraud detection, recommendations, and operational analytics. - Uphold the commitment to five-nines reliability for mission-critical systems. - Address challenges in concurrency, partitioning, and consistency across distributed services. - Implement fault-tolerance strategies such as circuit breakers, idempotency, and backpressure handling. - Champion modern SRE practices including chaos engineering, observability-first design, and automated failover. - Lead and mentor platform and microservice engineering teams, fostering a supportive and high-performing environment. - Blend hands-on technical guidance with visionary leadership and strategy. - Nurture an inclusive culture of ownership, curiosity, and continuous learning. - Act as a key mentor for engineers, elevating expertise in distributed system design and best practices. **Qualifications Required:** - Significant experience (e.g., 10+ years) in backend or platform engineering with formal leadership roles. - Fluency in modern backend technologies, particularly Node.js/TypeScript within cloud-native, serverless-first architectures. - History of building and operating highly reliable systems handling millions of daily transactions. - Collaborative leadership style with a passion for mentoring and developing engineers. Experience with the following technologies and concepts is highly relevant: - Modern Backend Development: Advanced TypeScript, Node.js, Express.js/NestJS, strong commitment to testing, and mature CI/CD practices. - Cloud-Native Infrastructure & Data Stores: AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, SQS/SNS, API Gateway, expertise in relational & NoSQL databases, including schema design & optimization. - Event-Driven Systems: Experience with Kafka, Pulsar, or Kinesis, familiarity with event sourcing, CQRS, and stream processing. - Architecture & APIs: Deep understanding of microservices, domain-driven design, fault-tolerant systems, proficiency in REST, GraphQL, or gRPC, and experience with schema governance & API versioning. - Platform & Operations: Knowledge of Fargate, Kubernetes, service mesh, passion for observability (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry), and practices like chaos engineering. - Security & Compliance: Awareness of standards like PCI DSS, GDPR/CCPA, and principles of secure API design.,
