Job Title: Senior Mainframe Developer Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing, maintaining, and supporting applications on IBM mainframe systems using technologies such as COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS. You will work closely with business analysts and other developers to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet business needs. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS. Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Perform code reviews, unit testing, and debugging. Optimize and enhance existing applications for performance and scalability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with other systems. Provide production support and troubleshoot issues as needed. Document technical processes and maintain application support manuals. Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 5+ years of experience in mainframe development. Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS. Experience with tools such as TSO/ISPF, Abend-AID, and File-AID. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Preferred Skills: Experience with Agile or DevOps methodologies. Knowledge of mainframe modernization techniques. Familiarity with scheduling tools like CA-7 or Control-M. Understanding of financial or insurance domain (if applicable). Role & responsibilities Preferred candidate profile
