Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Position Overview:

We are seeking a hands-on Machine Learning Engineer with a strong focus on Generative AI and modern NLP techniques. Youll play a key role in designing, developing, and deploying cutting-edge AI systems that leverage LLMs and agentic workflows to improve legal document processing, contract analytics, compliance monitoring, and more.

This is a great opportunity to work on real-world applications of LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, prompt engineering, and AI agents while collaborating closely with product, legal, and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, prototype, and deploy NLP/LLM-based features across Provakil's SaaS platform.
• Implement intelligent document understanding systems using Transformer-based models and RAG pipelines.
• Develop and optimize prompt engineering strategies to extract structured insights from unstructured legal data.
• Build and evaluate domain-specific fine-tuned LLMs and embedding-based search systems.
• Integrate LLMs as agents that autonomously interact with tools/APIs to complete user-defined tasks.
• Own the full ML lifecycle – from data preprocessing and modeling to deployment and performance monitoring.
• Collaborate with legal experts and engineers to turn business requirements into production-ready AI systems.
• Stay current with recent research and advancements in GenAI, LLM tooling, and legal tech.

Requirements:

• 4 - 8 years of relevant experience is a must. 
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with tools like FastAPI, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Haystack.
• Using and deploying Computer vision models in production environments
• Solid understanding of modern NLP and GenAI concepts
• Prompt engineering with Large Language Models (LLMs) (GPT-4, Mistral, Claude, etc.)
• Comfortable with containerization and deploying models via Docker/Kubernetes or serverless platforms.
• Exposure to cloud services like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
• Prior experience deploying models to production at scale.

Nice to Have:

• Experience working with legal tech, document review, or contract intelligence.
• Experience with MLOps tools like MLflow, Weights & Biases, or SageMaker is a plus.
• Contributions to open-source LLM/GenAI projects.
• Knowledge of compliance and security in handling sensitive data.

Education:

• BTech/BE or Master’s in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related field.
• Relevant certifications in LLMs, GenAI, or Prompt Engineering are a bonus.
