Senior Lighting & Rendering Artist

Key Responsibilities

• Lighting

• Design, implement, and refine lighting setups for

  characters, props, and environments

  .
• Establish cinematic moods that enhance storytelling and match the art direction.
• Ensure consistency of light, shadow, and atmosphere across sequences.
  

• Rendering

• Optimize assets and scenes for efficient rendering without sacrificing quality.
• Troubleshoot render-related issues and ensure seamless delivery to compositing.
• Collaborate with pipeline/TD teams to streamline rendering workflows.
  

• Look Development

• Work closely with shading and texturing teams to achieve physically accurate material responses under light.
• Support compositors by delivering high-quality render passes and AOVs.
• Maintain strong color accuracy and visual fidelity across shots.
  

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional experience in

  film, AAA game cinematics, or high-end animation

  .
• Expert knowledge of

  Maya

  ,

  Arnold/V-Ray/RenderMan

  , and lighting/rendering workflows.
• Strong artistic eye for

  composition, mood, and photorealism

  .
• Understanding of

  AOVs, render layers, and multi-pass workflows

  .
• Proficiency with

  color management (ACES, OCIO)

  .
• Solid grasp of

  physically based rendering (PBR) principles

  .

Nice to Have

• Experience with

  Unreal Engine (Lumen/Path Tracer)

  or other real-time rendering tools.
• Knowledge of

  Nuke or After Effects

  for basic compositing.
• Familiarity with

  Houdini

  for lighting or FX integration.
• Python/MEL scripting for render automation.
