Senior Java Architect

Role Overview:

As Java Architect, you will be responsible for defining and owning the technical architecture for Java-based applications, guiding development teams through the full software lifecycle from requirements to design, implementation, integration, and deployment. You will ensure that our systems are scalable, secure, high performing, and aligned with overall business and technical strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and design high-level architecture for Java-based applications and enterprise systems.
• Select appropriate technologies, frameworks, tools (e.g. Java, Spring/Spring Boot/Hibernate, microservices, databases, cloud or on-prem architectures) to meet technical and business requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders (product managers, business analysts, other architects, developers) to gather requirements, translate them into a robust architecture, and ensure the architecture aligns with business goals.
• Provide technical leadership: mentor and guide development teams, enforce coding/design standards, lead code reviews, ensure best practices, performance, scalability, maintainability, and security.
• Identify and resolve architectural issues, performance bottlenecks, integration or scalability challenges; perform validation, testing, and optimization as needed.
• Maintain and evolve architecture by evaluating emerging technologies, design patterns, frameworks ensuring the architecture remains current, flexible, and efficient.

Qualifications / Required Skills:

• Strong expertise in Java and related ecosystem (Java SE, Java EE or Spring frameworks, ORM tools such as Hibernate, web frameworks).
• In-depth understanding of software architecture design patterns, microservices or modular architectures, performance, scalability, maintainability, security, system integration.
• Experience with backend systems, databases (SQL/NoSQL), web services/APIs, distributed systems, cloud or containerization environments (where relevant).
• Proven track record of leading or architecting enterprise-grade applications or large-scale systems.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, collaboration and mentoring skills ability to translate business requirements into architecture and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to make sound architectural decisions balancing performance, quality, maintainability, cost, and business needs.
• Educational background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience (bachelor's or master's) often expected for senior/architect roles.
