We require an accomplished Senior Business Analyst with in-depth experience of completing detailed business process analysis and requirement gathering to enable the delivery of complex software development projects. Within this role, the candidate will be in charge of understanding and verifying back office business processes to change/improve/streamline, completing business process analysis, and defining business and functional requirements. This will be executed across multiple projects within the Back Office area. The candidate will manage relationships and expectations with business stakeholders and sponsors and support development and test teams throughout the entire delivery lifecycle. The Senior Business Analyst will drive digital transformation within Trading IT leveraging On Premise and cloud computing, low-code/no-code technologies, Business process and workflow automation tools to optimize business processes, deliver efficiencies, and enable smarter decision-making across Back Office

- Has led a team of 12+ business analysts/functional consultants for 5+ years
- Expected to have 10+ years experience of requirements analysis in a commercial environment
- Proven ability to act as a bridge between the business and highly technical developers located in remote offices, translating business concepts into requirements that are implementable
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the majority of the following areas:
- Excellent understanding of the physical commodities trading lifecycle
- Profit and loss, position and risk management (physical & paper)
- Commodity or shipping operations
- Sales and purchase invoicing lifecycle
- Back Office, i.e. accounting, trade finance, corporate funding, credit and treasury, including cash settlement
- Greenfield software development
- ETRM system implementation and design
- Experience in data analytics, and database SQL knowledge
- Data modelling
- Awareness of software development lifecycle and testing principles
- Proficient in business analysis techniques and ability to utilise reporting tools (e.g. Qlikview, Business Objects) to provide information for decision analysis
- Ability to take a systematic & analytical approach to problem solving & pay close attention to detail
- Demonstrable the ability to drive business process changes, challenging current business practices and working with key business process personnel
- Experience of a variety of software development methodologies (e.g. continuous integration, iterative development)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to self-manage and regularly prioritise and plan activities across multiple project work streams
- Strong academic background - excellent degree from a top tier university is required in a subject that demonstrates the need for logical thinking, precise understanding and clear articulation
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain working relationships with business stakeholders
- Estimation, planning and tracking of activities for the team they are managing
- Work closely with the Global Product Managers to determine the initiatives and features required to deliver programme objectives
- Primary responsibility is the determination & clear articulation of business requirements for the physical commodity trading
- Responsible for clearly articulating target business processes and the business requirements and functional design to enable change.
- Work with the functional architecture team to determine the design of a solution, including screen design & usability to optimise business processes
- Detail story elaboration to enable the system development
- Support development teams to ensure a solution meets its business requirements.
- Support quality assurance teams to ensure a solution meets its business requirements.
- Support change management and training teams to prepare business stakeholder for process and functional change.
- Provide third line support for production issues.
