Senior Geophysicist

The main purpose of this role is to lead and support ground seismic survey activities, including planning, execution, quality control, and interpretation. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring that survey operations are carried out efficiently and accurately. This will involve robust geophysical data analysis and modeling to support exploration and development objectives. Your responsibilities will include planning and designing ground seismic surveys in alignment with project objectives. You will oversee the field execution of seismic surveys, ensuring adherence to technical and safety standards. Monitoring and controlling survey operations to ensure timely and quality data acquisition will be a crucial part of your role. Additionally, you will be responsible for identifying operational and data quality gaps during survey execution and initiating corrective measures. Performing quality checks and validation of geophysical survey data will also be a key aspect of your responsibilities. Furthermore, you will be expected to interpret geophysical data to extract lithological and structural information. Developing geophysical models using survey results for subsurface characterization will be an essential part of your role. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams for integrated subsurface understanding is also expected. You will prepare and present technical reports on survey findings and interpretations. To be successful in this role, you should have 5-10 years of relevant experience in geophysics, with a focus on ground seismic surveys and data interpretation. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geophysics, Earth Sciences, or a related field is required. Strong knowledge of seismic survey design, execution, and quality control practices is essential. Experience in geophysical data interpretation and modeling using industry-standard software is also necessary. Proficiency in identifying survey gaps and implementing quality improvement measures is expected. A good understanding of lithological and structural interpretation from seismic data, as well as strong analytical, coordination, and communication skills, are important for this role. Preferred experience includes prior involvement in onshore seismic operations across varied terrains, exposure to integrated interpretation with well and geological data, and familiarity with GIS tools and seismic processing workflows.
