Role Overview: At AMD, you will be part of a team dedicated to developing innovative products that drive next-generation computing experiences across various domains like AI, data centers, PCs, gaming, and embedded systems. As a Senior Firmware Engineer, you will play a crucial role in advancing AMD's product lines and working on cutting-edge interconnect technology. This position offers a unique opportunity to make significant contributions and gain recognition for your work. Key Responsibilities: - Contribute to ROM based firmware development for next-generation interconnect and chiplet technologies. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as BIOS, architecture, design, emulation, and verification to deliver SOC solutions. - Develop low-level firmware for embedded systems in a bare metal environment. - Design robust sequences that are easy to debug and reuse. - Participate in pre-silicon validation activities including co-simulation with IP and SOC emulation. - Assist in post-silicon enablement and debug processes. - Share architectural concepts with the firmware team to enhance reuse opportunities. Qualifications Required: - Specialist in C programming, with a strong proficiency in C++ or Python. - Hands-on experience in end-to-end firmware development from pre-silicon to production cycle. - Proficient in firmware lab debug, triaging, and bug fixes for silicon bring-up. - Familiarity with Linux build environments. Preferred Qualifications: - 5 years of experience in device driver or embedded firmware development. - Knowledge of software engineering practices and exposure to RTL or Verification concepts. - Ability to work independently under tight deadlines with minimal supervision. - Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively. - Understanding of hardware and software system integration. - Experience with firmware integration testing and debug in pre and post-silicon environments. - Familiarity with technologies like PCIE, UCIE, UNIX, Linux, and Windows. Educational Credentials: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Engineering Science, or Computer Science.
