Description
As a Senior Engineer - SAP BW & Azure Data at ArcelorMittal, you will be responsible for working on a wide range of technologies related to Datalakes, including SQL, SYNAPSE, Databricks, and Fabric. You will be utilizing tools like DEVOPS, Visual Studio & TFS, and GIT. Your expertise in SQL Server, Agile (SCRUM) methodologies, SAP BW / SAC, and PowerBI / Tableau will be crucial for the successful implementation of data development projects. Key Responsibilities: - Bring to the table 4-6 years of experience in data engineering or development roles within large-scale projects - Design, develop, and maintain data models and queries within SAP BW (7.x or BW/4HANA), encompassing InfoProviders, DSO/ADSOs, CompositeProviders, and BEx reports - Construct and uphold Azure-based data pipelines using Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, and SQL-based transformations - Provide support for integrating and synchronizing data between SAP BW and Azure platforms for analytics and reporting purposes - Collaborate with functional teams and BI analysts to ensure alignment between SAP data structures and modern reporting requirements - Aid in the migration or replication of SAP BW data into Azure Data Lake or Synapse to facilitate enterprise-wide access - Uphold data consistency and governance across platforms, supporting the objective of a single version of the truth Minimum skills: - Hands-on experience in SAP BW, including InfoProviders, extractors, and BEx query design - Proficiency with Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure Data Factory for developing pipelines, datasets, and transformations - Understanding of SAP data extraction via ODP, CDS Views, or flat file interface into Azure environments - Basic to intermediate exposure to Azure Databricks is advantageous - Familiarity with reporting and visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau - Proficient in data modeling, ETL/ELT workflows, and structured SQL development - Strong analytical skills and ability to navigate both SAP and cloud data environments - Effective communication skills for collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders - Strong problem-solving capabilities in navigating complexity - Demonstrable experience in applying agile methodologies (SCRUM) - A team player with good communication and documentation skills - Advanced level of English proficiency Preferred skills: - Experience with SAP BW/4HANA or SAP HANA modeling - Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and Git-based source control for data solutions - Understanding of data architecture best practices in hybrid environments - Possession of any Azure data certification (e.g., DP-203) or SAP BW certification is beneficial - Exposure to modern BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau - Familiarity with Alteryx Join ArcelorMittal's global team of talented individuals committed to revolutionizing the global steel manufacturing industry with innovative and sustainable practices.
