Senior Engineer - Java Backend

As a Senior Backend Engineer (Java), your role will involve designing, building, and optimizing core travel booking engines and APIs. You will work on high-availability microservices supporting key OTA flows such as search, booking, fare caching, and dynamic pricing. Scaling backend infrastructure, integrating with third-party travel systems, and enhancing platform performance will be crucial aspects of your responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: - Design and develop scalable Java microservices for travel booking workflows. - Establish and maintain integrations with GDS, NDC, LCC airlines, and hotel APIs. - Optimize backend systems for real-time flight/hotel search, fare caching, and SSR management. - Ensure high throughput and low-latency API responses during high-traffic scenarios. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams for end-to-end delivery. - Implement best practices for code quality, testing, logging, and observability. - Contribute to architecture discussions and technical roadmaps. - Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews. Required Skills & Qualifications: - 5+ years of backend development experience using Java/Spring Boot. - Proficiency in RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and asynchronous processing. - Familiarity with travel APIs (GDS/NDC/LCC/Hotel APIs) is advantageous. - Strong understanding of multithreading, performance tuning, and memory management. - Experience with RDBMS (e.g., MySQL/PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis). - Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and CI/CD pipelines. - Understanding of OAuth, token-based authentication, and API security best practices. - Exposure to caching techniques for fares, availability, and hotel inventory. - Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is beneficial. Nice to Have Skills: - Experience in building flight/hotel search engines, availability engines, or PNR management systems. - Exposure to dynamic pricing models, fare rules, and travel ancillaries. - Knowledge of GraphQL, gRPC, or event-driven architecture. In addition to the technical responsibilities, you will also be involved in mentoring junior developers, contributing to architecture discussions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Your expertise in backend development using Java/Spring Boot, familiarity with travel APIs, and knowledge of cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines will be essential for success in this role.,
