Senior Engineer 1, POS Services Developer

Role Overview: You will be joining as a Senior Software Engineer at Abercrombie & Fitch to contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of applications, integrations, and services within the global Stores Technology space. Your role will involve collaborating with various teams to drive the stores technology strategy and roadmap, ensuring the delivery of store associate and customer omni-channel experiences. You will participate in Agile ceremonies, define project requirements, create technical documentation, and work towards improving development practices. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with functional business leads and technology partners to provide exceptional customer service - Participate in all Agile ceremonies as part of the Scrum Team - Define and break down project requirements with the team - Ensure projects are completed to standard by working with team members, management, and product owner - Implement rapid updates to meet changing business and marketing requirements - Create technical documentation including architecture design, flow diagrams, and technical implementation approaches - Identify risks and develop contingency plans proactively - Work collaboratively in a team environment to support team goals and enhance development practices - Deliver across the entire software life cycle from concept to deployment, testing, release, and support - Collaborate with other development teams on architectural vision and roadmap - Continuously explore, evaluate, and implement new technologies to enhance development efficiency Qualifications Required: - 6-9 years of Java/J2EE development experience - Proficiency in Java, Spring, SQL, Log4j, Web Services (SOAP/XML/REST/JSON), and Oracle/H2 databases - Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Test Driven Development, and CI/CD - Strong cross-team collaboration skills - Experience in guiding and mentoring other team members Desired Skills: - Experience with Kafka integrations is a plus - Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Azure - Knowledge of Reactive programming - Exposure to Oracle POS (point of sale) - Understanding of Android SDK,
