Job

Key

Electrical

• Prepare detailed electrical drawings, including single-line diagrams (SLDs), three-line diagrams, grounding layouts, and AC/DC wiring diagrams specifically for Utility-Scale BESS projects.
• Develop plant layouts, conduit/cable routing, substation layouts, and equipment arrangements for BESS installations.
• Good understanding of relevant regulations, zoning, and compliance requirements for energy storage systems.
• Create as-built drawings, shop drawings, and IFC (Issued for Construction) drawings for BESS projects.
• Work closely with design engineers and project managers to ensure accuracy and compliance with BESS-specific specifications.

2. BESS System Optimization

• Optimize battery module/string layouts, PCS (Power Conversion System) placement, electrical BOS (Balance of System) design specific to BESS, and cable schedules to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
• Use AI-driven tools and automation software to enhance design workflows and reduce manual drafting efforts in BESS design.
• Ensure optimal site utilization and grid interconnection strategies for BESS projects in collaboration with the engineering team.

3. CAD & Design Tools Proficiency

• Utilize AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and other CAD tools for high-quality BESS- related drawings.
• Work on GIS-based tools and electrical modeling software relevant to energy storage system design.
• Maintain drawing databases, version control, and documentation for all BESS design files.

4. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Coordination

• Coordinate with structural, mechanical, and civil design teams to integrate electrical layouts for BESS with site plans.
• Work with procurement teams to ensure drawings align with vendor specifications and equipment compatibility for BESS components.
• Provide technical drafting support for engineering teams working on interconnection, relay coordination, and power system studies related to BESS.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• 3

  -5 years of hands-on experience in electrical drafting specifically for Utility-Scale BESS projects.
• Strong expertise in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and similar CAD tools.
• Experience working with US utilities, developers, or other overseas energy storage markets is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with electrical BOS (Balance of System) for BESS, high-voltage equipment layouts relevant to energy storage, and Single Line Diagrams for BESS.
• Good understanding of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, IEC, and UL standards relevant to battery energy storage systems.
• Ability to optimize electrical layouts for BESS for efficiency, cost reduction, and improved energy dispatch.
• Strong organizational skills with experience managing multiple BESS projects and drawing versions.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Professional CAD Certification in AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical.
• Knowledge of GIS-based tools, SCADA system layouts for BESS, and power system simulation tools is a plus.
