Senior Designer

You will be responsible for collaborating with business and technical leaders, engaging in creative conception and design, leading project meetings, and effectively multitasking on multiple projects. This is an urgent hiring opportunity for the role of Senior Designer specializing in Plastic Injection Mould. The location for this position is in Chandigarh, working for a plastic manufacturing company. The educational requirement is a Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Tool Design with a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in plastic injection mould design, particularly for automotive components. The expected CTC (Cost to Company) for this role is between 60k-70k. Key requirements for this role include proficiency in UG NX or SolidWorks, a strong understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing), GD&T, and mould standards, experience with complex multi-cavity, hot runner, and precision moulds, as well as good knowledge of materials, tolerances, and plastic part behavior. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential. Preferred qualities include exposure to Class A surface parts and high-precision automotive moulds, familiarity with mould flow analysis tools such as Moldex3D and Autodesk Moldflow, and the ability to manage multiple projects within tight timelines. As a Senior Designer, your responsibilities will include designing 3D models and 2D drawings of injection moulds for complex automotive plastic components, creating complete mould designs including core, cavity, sliders, lifters, cooling channels, ejection systems, and mould base assemblies. You will ensure that designs meet performance, manufacturability, and quality standards, utilizing UG NX or SolidWorks for the full design cycle from concept to detailed tool design. Additionally, you will work with mould flow analysis reports to optimize gate locations, cooling, and ejection systems, collaborate with tooling, machining, and production teams to ensure timely delivery of moulds, review and revise mould designs based on feedback, generate detailed BOMs and drawing sets, maintain revision control and project documentation, and support tool trial runs while resolving any related issues.
