As a Senior Designer for Plastic Injection Mould at a plastic manufacturing company in Chandigarh, you will be responsible for collaborating with business and technical leaders, creative conception and design, leading project meetings, and multitasking on multiple projects simultaneously. The role requires a Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Tool Design with a minimum of 10 years hands-on experience in plastic injection mould design, particularly for automotive components. The key responsibilities of the role include designing 3D models and 2D drawings of injection moulds for complex automotive plastic components, creating complete mould designs including core, cavity, sliders, lifters, cooling channels, ejection systems, and mould base assemblies. You will need to ensure that designs meet performance, manufacturability, and quality standards using UG NX or SolidWorks for the full-cycle design from concept to detailed tool design. Additionally, collaborating with tooling, machining, and production teams to ensure timely delivery of moulds, reviewing and revising mould designs based on feedback, generating detailed BOMs and drawing sets for tool manufacturing and assembly, and maintaining proper revision control and project documentation are all part of the role. The requirements for this position include proficiency in UG NX or SolidWorks, a strong knowledge of DFM, GD&T, and mould standards, experience with complex multi-cavity, hot runner, and precision moulds, a good understanding of materials, tolerances, and plastic part behavior, as well as strong communication and teamwork skills. Preferred qualities for the role include exposure to Class A surface parts and high-precision automotive moulds, familiarity with mould flow analysis tools like Moldex3D and Autodesk Moldflow, and the ability to handle multiple projects under tight timelines.
