Senior Design & Product Development Manager

As a Designer within D2 International, your role will involve handling the leather goods category. You will be responsible for tasks such as sourcing, managing pattern cutters, craftsmen, and vendor communication. Your duties will encompass overseeing the development process from proto to salesman samples, and ensuring successful production. Collaboration with design, vendors, sourcing team, pattern cutters, and craftsmen will be a key aspect of your daily tasks, with direct reporting to the Head of Development. Key Responsibilities: - Create detailed tech packs and maintain organized administration. - Work closely with designers, craftsmen, and vendors to bring designs to life. - Continuously improve product quality through innovative production techniques. - Stay updated on new materials, shapes, and techniques to remain fashion forward. - Assess proto samples for technical details, measurements, and workmanship. - Provide feedback to pattern cutters, craftsmen, sourcing team, and vendors. - Anticipate feasibility of changes within the timeline/critical path. - Track sample progress, monitor deadlines, and statuses. - Utilize product and production knowledge to achieve competitive FOB prices. Qualifications Required: - Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience working with global fashion/luxury brands or related fields. - Strong portfolio demonstrating a variety of design projects. - Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), Corel Draw, and CAD. - Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior designers. - Solid understanding of leather materials, hardware, trims, and construction techniques. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork. - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and address design challenges.
