Description
As a Senior Design Engineer, you will lead the design and development of electrical switchgear systems for large-scale solar power projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Your key responsibilities will include: - Leading the design and development of electrical switchgear systems for MW-scale solar projects. - Preparing detailed electrical schematics, layouts, and specifications for ground-mounted and rooftop solar installations. - Ensuring all designs adhere to relevant industry codes and regulatory requirements. - Conducting technical analysis including load flow, short-circuit, and protection coordination studies. - Selecting and specifying key components with an emphasis on performance, cost-effectiveness, and reliability. - Developing and implementing test plans to validate design performance and safety. - Providing on-site technical support during installation, commissioning, and testing phases. - Collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to meet project timelines and quality benchmarks. - Mentoring and guiding junior engineers by providing technical oversight and knowledge sharing. - Staying current on advancements in solar technologies, electrical systems, and industry best practices. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. - Minimum of 5 years experience in electrical design, with a focus on solar power systems and switchgear. - Hands-on experience with MW-scale solar projects (ground mount and rooftop). - Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, PVSyst, Helioscope, and other relevant tools. - Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, transformers, switchgear, and protective devices. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. - Strong communication and leadership abilities. Preferred Qualifications: - Professional Engineer (PE) certification. - Experience in renewable energy systems and power conversion technologies. - Familiarity with utility interconnection processes and grid compliance standards. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable integration of solar electrical switchgear systems into large-scale solar projects.
