Senior Design Appraisal Specialist

Role Overview: As a Design Appraiser at LRQA in Mumbai, your role involves assessing the design, manufacture, and in-service aspects of engineering assets using defined Codes, Standards, specifications, procedures, and your knowledge and experience. You will be handling complex and demanding situations which may also include project management. Key Responsibilities: - Perform complex assessments, provide specialist advice and solutions, deliver training to internal and external clients, and conduct research or development work within agreed parameters. - Produce deliverables in the agreed format, review and monitor other employees" work, and pursue Continuing Professional Development to maintain a high level of discipline knowledge. - Assess and recommend the time and value of work to external clients, issue quotations, discuss and present deliverables, and suggest alternative solutions when necessary. - Assist in improving service delivery by making recommendations based on client feedback, coach and mentor other employees, and ensure activities are in line with internal procedures and industry standards. - Contribute to client management by acting as a point of contact, undertake project management, and make recommendations for service delivery effectiveness and process improvements. - Maintain technical competence by ensuring competency codes remain valid and taking ownership of activity monitoring and revalidation. Qualification Required: - Possess a relevant bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized university, with a preference for a higher tertiary degree such as a master's. - Preferably be a qualified member of a recognized professional body and working towards Chartered/Professional Engineer status. - Have a minimum of 10 years of relevant working experience and in-depth knowledge of design and construction of pressure equipment, cranes, or containers. - Proficiency in the use of FEA and calculation software, and proficiency in the English language both written and verbal. - Successful candidates will be subject to pre-employment checks based on legal requirements and practices in the country of employment.
