Senior DBA

As a Senior Database Administrator (Contract) for an innovative entity in the insurance industry, your primary role is to install, configure, and administer databases according to business requirements. With your 10+ years of IT experience, including a minimum of 8 years as a DB administrator in a reputable organization, you will report to the Head of IT Infrastructure Operations. Key Responsibilities: - Install, configure, and upgrade database software and tools - Monitor and tune database performance regularly - Configure automation of tasks and create/finetune databases as per internal stakeholders" requirements - Ensure high availability of databases, manage data replication, and plan high availability and disaster recovery environments - Implement data security policies, conduct regular backups, and disaster recovery planning - Monitor and optimize performance of database systems, resolve bottlenecks, and improve query efficiency - Define and manage user roles, permissions, and access levels, addressing data access and connectivity issues - Collaborate with developers to design and implement efficient database solutions, assist in database schema design and data modeling - Ensure compliance with standards and regulations, document database configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures - Respond to and resolve database-related incidents and service requests within defined SLAs, conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues Preferred Certifications and Skills: - Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate - AWS Certified Database Specialty Additional Details: The engagement model is a 6-month contract through 10XTD, based in Hyderabad, India. You should have deep technical proficiency in database management, experience with MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and other open-source non-SQL databases. Knowledge of server operating systems (Windows & Linux), hardware components, backup/recovery, performance tuning, and cloud database services is required.
