Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain database schemas for a multi-tenant SaaS platform, ensuring clean, scalable, and audit-friendly data models.
• Collaborate with backend engineering teams to model complex business domains and translate requirements into reliable database structures.
• Ensure data integrity, consistency, and tenant isolation through rigorous schema design and best practices in relational databases.
• Optimize database performance via indexing, query tuning, and database configuration adjustments to meet the needs of a high-availability platform.
• Perform regular reviews of data-related decisions, recommending improvements aligned with long-term scalability, security, and compliance objectives.
• Support data governance by implementing policies and structures that preserve data quality, retention, and auditability.
• Contribute to the planning and architectural discussions for evolving the database layer alongside other engineering disciplines.
• Assist in backup and recovery strategies to protect critical platform data and ensure minimal downtime in case of incidents.
• Evaluate and incorporate modern NoSQL or event-driven data systems when appropriate to enhance platform capabilities.
• Collaborate with QA and AI engineering teams to validate data workflows and support complex product features reliant on accurate data management.
• Document data schemas, decisions, and processes comprehensively for future reference and team alignment.
• Continuously monitor database health, proactively identifying potential issues and implementing solutions to prevent performance degradation.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security standards and regulatory requirements concerning data storage and access.
• Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies in database management to recommend enhancements to current systems.
