Job Description

Role Overview: As a Systems Database Administrator, you will be responsible for providing formal mentorship, owning high complexity assignments, overseeing moderate complexity assignments, and providing review for low complexity assignments. You will be expected to lead yourself and others, understand how your work aligns with Ensono's overall strategy, and handle tasks such as installation, configuration, backup, and recovery of database software. Your role will also involve implementing change control policies, capacity planning, system-level architecture, and database security checks. Key Responsibilities: - Installation and configuration of database software and related products - Planning and implementing database backup and recovery - Implementing change control and configuration management policies - Capacity planning, system-level architecture, and optimization - Database security checks, audits, and compliance-related reporting - Database health checks, monitoring, and troubleshooting - Working with DBMS vendor support and applying patches - Database migrations, refreshes, and upgrades - Maintenance (proactive, reactive, and automated) - Database tuning, performance optimization, and disaster recovery services - Managing database users, security, and access control - Developing detailed triage processes and workload analysis - Architecting complex database solutions and contributing innovative ideas to the DBA knowledge base - On-call responsibilities Qualifications Required: - Minimum of 7 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 6 years with a Master's degree, or a PhD with 3 years of experience, or equivalent work experience - Strong analytical, organizational, and complex problem-solving skills - Ability to multi-task and document effectively - Proficiency in relational databases, SQL, UNIX, and Windows - Strong database administration, performance tuning, and project management skills - Coaching, leadership, and ability to work independently - Logical and physical database design knowledge Please note that this position does not have direct reports but may involve mentoring less experienced associates. Specific hiring needs may vary, and detailed knowledge of Ensono products is preferred. Travel required is less than 5%.
