Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Data Scientist, located in Pune. The Senior Data Scientist (LLMs & Computer Vision) at Netra Labs will be responsible for designing, fine-tuning, and deploying advanced AI models that power enterprise-grade solutions. The role demands deep expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs) and Computer Vision, with a focus on building models for classification, segmentation, detection, and OCR tasks.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transfer learning, synthetic data generation, and cloud-based model training and inference (AWS). They will work closely with engineering and product teams to convert complex business problems into scalable, high-performing AI solutions that deliver measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Fine-tune and deploy open-source LLMs (Llama, Mistral, Gemma, DBRX, etc.) for domain-specific applications.
• Build and optimize Computer Vision models for image classification, segmentation, object detection, and OCR using frameworks like RCNN, Faster RCNN, Mask RCNN, YOLO, and Vision Transformers.
• Apply transfer learning, quantization, and inference optimization to improve model efficiency and performance.
• Develop synthetic data generation pipelines to enhance model training for both text and vision tasks.
• Leverage AWS services (SageMaker, S3, EC2, Lambda, ECR) for large-scale training and inference.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver production-ready AI models and workflows.
• Lead model evaluation, benchmarking, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Proficiency in Statistics and Data Visualization
• Experience with machine learning algorithms and tools
• Strong programming skills in Python.

• Master's in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field
