Senior Data Scientist

As a Senior Data Analyst at Gibbous Technologies, a data analytics consulting firm specializing in sports business analytics and advanced business intelligence solutions, you will be responsible for leading analytics projects, mentoring junior analysts, and collaborating closely with clients to deliver tailored solutions. Your role will involve designing, executing, and delivering analytics projects from data collection to visualization, conducting deep-dive analyses to identify trends and actionable insights, and developing dashboards, reports, and data models to support decision-making. You will work with stakeholders to translate business questions into analytical problems and solutions, ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with best practices, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate analytics into business workflows. Additionally, you will mentor and guide junior analysts in technical skills and analytical approaches, leveraging your strong analytical expertise, passion for data storytelling, and experience with diverse datasets to deliver impactful insights for clients. The ideal candidate for this role will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, along with 4+ years of professional experience in data analytics, preferably in consulting or business intelligence roles. Proficiency in SQL and at least one analytics-oriented programming language (Python/R), experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker), and a solid understanding of statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and predictive modeling are required. Excellent communication and presentation skills, the ability to simplify complex findings, and proven leadership in analytics initiatives are also essential. Preferred qualifications for this role include experience in sports analytics or business analytics for enterprises, knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, AWS Redshift, etc.), and familiarity with ETL processes and data pipeline development.
