Established in Thrissur during the Swadeshi movement, South Indian Bank is one of South Indias earliest and most trusted banks Today, we are redefining banking through technology, innovation, and digital-first solutions With a strong focus on IT-led transformation, we deliver secure, seamless, and customer-centric financial services Our teams work at the forefront of fintech innovation, driving automation, analytics, and next-gen digital platforms that shape the future of banking, SCALE OF APPOINTMENT Scale IV (The scale of appointment will be fixed by the management based on the qualification and experience of the applicant) ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA (as on 31082025) Work Experience: Minimum 7 yearsexperience in advanced analytics/ business intelligence in banks/ NBFCs Minimum Educational Qualification: Masters degree in economics/ statistics/ operations research/ mathematics/ engineering/ business related field with a strong quantitative emphasis or UG in engineering, TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT Probation 1 year JOB ROLE Summary Professional mathematician/ statistician/ data scientist, having at least 7 yearsexperience in development, validation and deployment of advanced analytics models in BFSI space, handling analytics, model building, visualization tools, financial analytics, etc, Working knowledge of R/ Python, SQL, SAS programming, building dashboards on any strong visualization platform (such as IBM Cognos, SAS-VA, Tableau or PowerBI) is preferred Experience of leading teams of junior data analysts/ data scientists is a must Details Identify strong use cases for deployment of analytics including advanced analytics in a bank and engage with relevant stakeholders to jointly frame analytics projects Design, develop, validate and deploy models in various core and non-core activities of the bank, ensuring higher efficiency and/ or effectiveness Such models may include (but is not limited to) credit risk scorecards, PD and LGD models, loss forecasting models, NPA and profitability forecasting models, propensity models for cross-sell/ up-sell, customer segmentation models, behavioural models, collection scorecards, recovery models, customer/ employee attrition models, cubes, dashboards, vintages, early delinquency monitoring reports, collection efficiency reports, flow rate, roll rate reports etc, Design, develop, validate and deploy performance and portfolio monitoring dashboards, reports and MIS in various core and non-core activities of the bank, ensuring higher efficiency and/ or effectiveness, Story-telling from dashboards and data that can lead to actionable insights, value of which can be measurable, Facilitate conduct of periodic portfolio monitoring, sharing with stakeholders, agreeing on actionables, monitoring implementation and measuring impact, Extracting, treating and managing data from both internal and external sources that would ensure development of strong and accurate models and effective delivery of critical analytical projects, Periodic validation of all models and projects and recalibrating deployment, wherever applicable Effectively leading team of data scientists, analysts or data experts and ensuring that models developed by the team are accurate and are intuitive to the business sense COMPETENCIES Ability to envision, develop, validate and deploy analytical projects in all core and non-core functions of the Bank, Core risk modelling Expertise in developing models on R/ Python, Good understanding of the core activities in a bank and of various use cases of descriptive analytics in a bank, Must have the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders and also manage a team of junior analysts and data scientists, Working knowledge of tools such as SQL, SAS, etc, will be an added advantage, PLACE OF POSTING Bangalore (Liable for transfer anywhere in India at the sole discretion of the Bank)
