About The Role: As a Data Engineer in our Product Area, you will do more than just extract, transform, and load data You will implement businessfunctionality that enables our customers to run their accounting processes and that produces data to satisfy their reporting needs Youwill design, develop, automate, and support data pipelines and applications that combine data elements from multiple domains andsystems You will leverage innovative technologies and frameworks to enable scalable and efficient data processing You will collaboratewith other engineers, analysts, product owners and stakeholders to deliver value-added solutions that meet the business needs andexpectations We are living DevOps We own the implementation of the business functionality and operate our workload in production We are lookingfor an ambitious data engineer, who will help to build and deploy end-to-end data pipelines to production environments Key tasks Understand business requirements and convert into technical specifications Oversight of the end-to-end application architecture Build data pipelines that create financial data by combining input from various sources Take ownership for the implementation of functional and non-functional requirements Ensure a high level of test automation Build up sustainable relationships with key business and IT stakeholders to become a trusted partner along with the product owner Meet with business stakeholders, understand the requirements, and advise on efficient solutions Ensure timely customer communication and coordination of follow-up activities Apply and implement Agile Scrum and DevOps standard methodologies Contribute to the operations during quarterly closing cycles Your Main Responsibilities Are: Collaborating with the product owner to build a target architecture for the products in scope of the team Design data pipelines and data flows and actively contribute hands-on to the coding Collaborating with the Engineering lead of the team to ensure design decisions are aligned within the product area Perform peer code reviews Present and communicate ideas and design to in the team for review and brainstorming Ensure technical design and implementation are in line with architecture and meet quality requirements (e g , performance, reliability,availability) Apply software engineering practices to ensure the quality, performance, and maintainability of our applications About The Team: The position is part of the Cashflow Enhancement team that is newly created in the Subledger Input Preparation Product Area Thisarea designs and runs business applications at the Finance IT Division of Swiss Re The Product Owner is in Switzerland and leads a global team that develops and runs the next generation of finance businessapplications for Swiss Re You will report to a local team leader based in India The team builds on a Lakehouse architecture using Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Lake (Delta Lake) withPython being the main programming language and PySpark is used for large scale data engineering About You: Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant quantitative field, e g , Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering 5+ years of experience in designing and implementing end to end data pipelines & data models Strong understanding of data engineering techniques with modern programming languages and analytical frameworks (proficient inPython, PySpark, SQL) Proficient in Spark based data lake & extended services like, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake etc Expertise working with relational databases like Oracle/Postgres Experience with integration technologies like REST/SOAP APIs Problem-solving skills and commitment to quality and timely delivery Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including clear articulation of technical topics to a non-technical audience A desire to continuously upskill & stay relevant with
