Job Description

Job Title: Senior Data Engineer

About the Role

Analyze existing HR applications and workflows related to scheduling, shift management, and location tracking.
Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and automation opportunities.
Design and implement
scalable data pipelines
for HR operations and analytics.
Rewrite and optimize ETL workflows ensuring expected performance and reliability.
Lead the
lift-and-shift of legacy Redshift clusters
to
modern serverless infrastructure
.
Develop and maintain data models, ETL workflows, and
data lakes/warehouses
for HR data.
Perform
data parity validation
, access permission verification, and functionality benchmarking across legacy vs. new infrastructure.
Ensure
data quality, governance, and security compliance
across all HR systems.
Work closely with HR stakeholders, software engineering teams, and business analysts for end-to-end solution delivery.
Continually adopt new AWS capabilities to drive system modernization and cost optimization.

Must-Have Skills (Mandatory)

6+ years of experience
in Data Engineering / ETL / Backend Engineering.
Expertise in
SQL, Python or Scala
for data transformation.
Strong hands-on experience with AWS services:
Glue, Redshift, Athena, Lambda, S3, Step Functions
.
Solid understanding of
data modeling, schema design, workflow automation
.
Experience in building and maintaining
large-scale data pipelines and data lakes
.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

8+ years of experience
working on HR or workforce management systems.
Experience with
workflow optimization and cloud cost reduction
.
Knowledge of
data security and compliance standards for HR systems
.
Exposure to
BI tools
like QuickSight, Tableau, or Power BI.
