Job Summary

Senior Data Analyst / Backend Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and optimize

  PostgreSQL databases

  , including schemas, indexes, views, functions, and stored procedures.
• Write and tune

  complex, high-performance SQL queries

  involving large datasets and analytical workloads.
• Develop and maintain

  Java-based backend components

  for data processing, business logic, and system integrations.
• Perform

  advanced data analysis

  to identify trends, patterns, and data quality issues, and present insights to stakeholders.
• Ensure data integrity, consistency, and performance across transactional and analytical systems.
  
• Collaborate with product managers, data teams, and engineering stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for data and performance issues in production environments.
  
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to best practices, coding standards, and data governance.
  
• Create and maintain technical documentation for data models, pipelines, and backend workflows.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience

  in backend development and/or data-focused roles.
• Strong hands-on expertise with

  PostgreSQL

  , including query optimization and performance tuning.
• Advanced

  SQL

  skills (CTEs, window functions, complex joins, indexing strategies).
• Solid

  Java development experience

  for backend systems and data processing.
• Proven experience in

  data analysis

  , data validation, and working with large, structured datasets.
• Strong understanding of relational database design and data modeling principles.
  
• Ability to work independently in a

  remote, contract-based role

  .
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• Experience with reporting or data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
  
• Exposure to ETL processes, data pipelines, and batch/stream processing.
  
• Experience with cloud platforms such as

  AWS, Azure, or GCP

  .
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
