Senior CAD Technician - Electrical

Role Summary

WSP

(Materials Handling Infrastructure). They shall be responsible for creating and editing drawings /

Models in compliance with WSP CAD and Client Standards utilizing CAD tool software.

The position is for BANGLORE location.

Responsibilities

• This role is for a Senior Electrical Designer on mining projects.
• Knowledge and experience of CAD tool 2D, 3D and Navisworks. Basic electrical principals
• Strong English communication skills, both written and oral
• Familiarity with electrical equipment and terminology
• Familiar with electrical design documents like:

Area classification

• Single line diagrams
• Distribution panel layout
• Cable and conduit schedule
• Electrical schematics
• Lighting design
• Control panel c/w I/O schematics.
• Junction box layouts
• Process and building electrical and control layout.
• Electrical Heat trace design
• Electrical Bill of Materials
• Familiarity with Australian Electrical Code
• Must complete a high-quality self-check of own work with efficiency. Shall follow internal QC processes.
• Perform review of engineering drawings, as per markups made by the Checkers. Verify to ensure drawings modifications are accurately and correctly conducted.
• Reporting progress of work assignment to immediate supervisor. Understands the project schedule and budget requirements.
• Communicate with internal peers and project team and required to answer questions regarding deliverables.
• Capable of multi-tasking and managing multiple projects with the ability to accurately predict the time required to fulfil the individual scopes of work required.
• Coordinating with Australian lead offices as per project requirement.
• Be able to perform Material Take-Offs with CAD tool and excel.
• Actively participate in the design and provide input to the design team throughout the design process.
• Ensuring that quality procedures are implemented and maintained.
• Provide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns, to Lead Designer.
• Ensure that Health Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies.
• Develop expertise and stay up to date of developments in Drafting skills.
• Support the company s approach to sustainability.
• Be able to communicate in a multi-disciplinary project team.
• Be willing to learn and be polyvalent.
• Identify improvements (where possible) to enhance WSP service to clients. Complete accurate timesheets by set deadline.

Desired Skills

• Preference will be given to candidates with minimum 6-12 year of experience in a consulting firm in O G, Power Plant, Mineral processing using CAD tool.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
• Ability to work well as part of a team or on an individual basis.

Qualifications

• 6-12 years of experience in Electrical 2D/3D drafting and modeling.
• Diploma or Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical
• Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills.
• Strong attention to the detail.
• Familiar with working in a LEAN environment.
• Experience with projects in Australia, New Zealand would be an advantage.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in English
