Senior Backend Engineer

As a Senior Backend Engineer for a Series A funded California based Software Development Company, your role will involve designing and optimizing complex MongoDB schemas and aggregation pipelines for analytical and transactional use cases. You will be responsible for building and maintaining Node.js services with GraphQL APIs, ensuring system reliability, performance, and security across distributed environments. Collaborating with frontend, QA, and DevOps teams to optimize end-to-end delivery and contributing to CI/CD pipelines will also be key aspects of your responsibilities. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design, implement, and optimize complex MongoDB schemas and aggregation pipelines. - Build and maintain Node.js services with GraphQL APIs for integrations. - Ensure system reliability, performance, and security across distributed environments. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define API contracts and optimize delivery. - Debug and profile backend performance bottlenecks. - Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and internal tools. **Qualifications Required:** - Expert level proficiency in MongoDB including aggregation framework, performance tuning, and schema design. - Advanced skills in Node.js with knowledge of asynchronous design, modular architecture, and API scalability. - Proficiency in GraphQL with experience in schema design and query optimization. - Strong debugging skills in production environments. - Solid understanding of cloud environments, preferably AWS.
