Senior Backend Engineer - Java Technologies

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Pocketpills, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing server-side logic, ensuring application scalability, and maintaining our technology stack, including Java, SQL, spring, and more. Your responsibilities will include: - Designing and implementing server-side logic - Ensuring application scalability and security - Maintaining technology stack including Java, SQL, spring, and more - Participating in all agile rituals including daily stand-ups, iteration planning, story huddles, retrospectives, and creation of burn-up charts - Supporting and developing software developers by providing advice, coaching, and educational opportunities - Mentoring a team of 4-6 Junior engineers - Working with the development team in Canada as per business needs Qualifications required for this role: - B.Tech/ BE in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field - 5 to 6 years of programming experience in Core Java with the spring framework - Good knowledge of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and SQL - Experience working with hibernate, Jenkins, maven, and CI/CD pipelines - Well-versed with Test-Driven Development - Strong hold on system design and architecture with demonstrated experience in developing things from scratch - Excited about working in a growth-stage startup, learning, and solving problems without getting constrained by current knowledge or experience - Experience building operationally critical services, especially in eCommerce Join us at Pocketpills, one of Canada's fastest-growing health tech companies, and be part of our mission to make medication more accessible and affordable for all Canadians.,
