Job Summary Synechron is seeking an experienced Automation Tester with expertise in API QA to join our dynamic team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software solutions through effective automation testing strategies. As an Automation Tester, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality digital solutions that align with our business objectives and enhance client satisfaction. Software Requirements Required: Proficiency in Core Java and Python Experience with REST ASSURED or Karate for API testing Proficiency in JUnit framework, Cucumber, and BDD methodology Experience with Java IDEs such as Eclipse or IntelliJ Hands-on experience with GIT, JIRA, Jenkins Strong understanding of REST API types (GET, PUT, POST, DELETE) Knowledge of HTTP, JSON protocols, and syntax Understanding of Message Schema, RAML/OAS specifications Exposure to cloud architecture, preferably AWS Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker Preferred: Understanding of STUB/Service virtualization Familiarity with API testing tools like POSTMAN, Rest Client, Anypoint Exposure to retail banking functions and requirements Overall Responsibilities Collaborate with Product Owner/Analysts to refine user stories and acceptance criteria. Evaluate functional and non-functional requirements for automation suitability. Design, script, and execute test automation scenarios, documenting results. Enhance automation pack coverage and testing cycle pass rates. Participate in release activities and provide QA sign-offs. Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary Agile team to achieve project goals. Deep knowledge of testing methodologies and agile environments. Experience working with cloud-based architecture and continuous integration. Alternative experience pathways in software development or testing roles are considered valuable. Day-to-Day Activities Analyze user stories and acceptance criteria for testability. Design and execute automated tests, ensuring comprehensive coverage. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine testing strategies. Participate in Agile ceremonies to align on project deliverables. Provide QA sign-offs, ensuring high-quality software releases. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications in software testing or Agile methodologies are preferred.
