Senior Analyst - Technical Writer

In this role as a Blue Planet Senior Technical Writer at Ciena, you will play a crucial part in creating clear and concise technical documentation to assist our customers in effectively using our products. We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated individual with strong problem-solving abilities and exceptional language skills to develop various user guides, deployment guides, upgrade guides, online help, FAQs, and release notes. Your responsibilities will include developing high-quality technical documentation, planning and meeting deadlines effectively, reviewing and maintaining existing documentation for accuracy, translating complex technical concepts into user-friendly content, managing updates to technical literature, ensuring content adheres to style guidelines and best practices, and creating visual aids to enhance comprehension. Collaboration with stakeholders is essential in this role, as you will work closely with developers and customers to identify and address gaps in documentation. Additionally, you will participate in a learning community to stay informed about trends and topics of interest to create content that meets customer needs. While not mandatory, familiarity and comfort with tools such as Git, Markdown, and knowledge of Kubernetes documentation are considered advantageous for this position. Your impact in this role will be integral to the success of our customers. To qualify for this role, you should possess a Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Computer Science, or a related field, along with proven experience as a Technical Writer in the software industry. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to understand and translate complex technical concepts, proficiency in technical writing tools and software, familiarity with software development processes and methodologies, attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively are also required.
