About the role


We are looking for a resourceful candidate to join the India office of DESRI, i.e., DESRI India Private Limited, based in Hyderabad, India. The candidate will be a part of Design and Engineering team and will regularly interact with the U.S. and Hyderabad-based teams, as well as external parties. The candidate will be a part of a small, inclusive, highly skilled team responsible for supporting DESRI s portfolio of wind, solar, and storage projects within a dynamic environment that values collaboration, thoughtful problem solving, and attention to detail.

What youll do

In this role, you will be assisting the Project Engineering team in conducting electrical studies for renewable facilities that encompass more of a system aspect in support of the preliminary solar and substation design. You will be work on creating, developing and validating reports/studies related to interconnection agreements, short circuit, reactive power/load flow, arc flash, dynamic, harmonic (pre), ampacity, as well as others. You will also be working on reviewing of IFC electrical studies from project EOR. Establish study templates, methodologies, and best practices for electrical system studies team. You will also be working closely with detailed design team on optimizing aspects related to but not limited to electrical power systems, control and relaying schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, conduit and cable sizing/routing, grounding design, writing of equipment specifications.

Qualifications


The ideal candidate should hold -
  • A Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) in Electrical engineering with 4 years or a Master of Technology (M. Tech) in Renewable/Solar Energy/Power Systems with 2 years of relevant experience in utility-scale power projects
  • Proficiency on NEC70 codes for utility scale projects
  • The ability to communicate Bottomline and conclusions via well-structured reports and presentable manners.
  • Preferred skillsets include specialized training or coursework in protective relaying, symmetrical components, transmission line theory, power system transients, dynamic stability, and power system electromagnetics.
  • A multidisciplinary technical background, along with hands-on experience using relevant software packages, is also considered favourable.
