Senior Analyst HR Analytics

As a Senior Analyst at Avalara based in the Pune office, your role will involve empowering the HR team to effectively utilize data for making informed decisions that contribute to organizational success. You will work closely with the engineering team to ensure seamless integration and availability of people data across various systems and tools. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines using tools like Snowflake, dbt, and Fivetran, as well as implementing and optimizing ELT processes to ensure data accuracy and reliability. **Key Responsibilities:** - Build and monitor data pipelines on a daily basis to ensure smooth data flow for analysis - Troubleshoot and resolve any data-related issues to minimize disruptions in HR operations - Collaborate with the engineering team to securely integrate people data across systems in accordance with data governance standards - Develop and maintain SQL queries and scripts to support data analysis and reporting needs - Document processes, provide technical support and training to HR team members, and enhance data infrastructure and processes for improved performance and scalability **Qualifications Required for Success:** - 6+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role - Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with modern data stack tools (Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, GitLab) - Ability to translate business requirements into data models - Experience with ELT processes and data pipeline development - Knowledge of data security and privacy regulations, including implementation of techniques for data safety - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field - Desirable experience with Workday reporting, calculated fields, RaaS - Additional experience with ICIMS, Workramp, Gallup, Espresa, Adaptive, Salesforce, Power BI, and scripting languages like Python for automating ELT processes As an equal opportunity employer, Avalara supports diversity, equity, and inclusion while offering a hybrid remote/in-office role with benefits such as compensation packages, paid time off, parental leave, and various health and wellness benefits.
