About the Role:

Senior Accountant Inventory

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Accounting & Controls

Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records in the accounting/ERP system.

Perform detailed inventory reconciliations, including stock ledgers, GRN entries, WIP, and material consumption tracking.

Manage month-end and year-end closing activities related to inventory, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.

Oversee valuation of inventory (FIFO/Weighted Average/Standard Costing) and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

Prepare detailed inventory MIS reports, ageing summaries, consumptions, shrinkage analysis, and management dashboards.

Process Optimization & Cross-functional Coordination

Monitor and streamline the end-to-end inventory workflow, including inbound, outbound, transfers, and returns.

Support the implementation of internal controls, SOPs, and best practices for efficient inventory management.

Participate in ERP improvements, module testing, and integration enhancements to strengthen data accuracy and reporting.

ERP & System Responsibilities

Maintain and update item master data, SKU codes, pricing, and storage locations in ERP.

Ensure timely posting and verification of all inventory transactions to avoid delays or mismatches.

Leverage tools like NetSuite, Dynamics, SAP, Odoo, Zoho Inventory, Cin7, or similar platforms to enhance visibility and accuracy.

What we are looking for:

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or related field.

Proven experience (2-4 years for mid-level) in inventory accounting

Hands-on experience with inventory software such as NetSuite, Dynamics, Cin7, SAP, and Odoo.

Knowledge of cost accounting, BOM analysis, and WIP tracking.

Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of inventory accounting standards, stock valuation methods, and reconciliation processes.

Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work independently as well as in a team-based environment.

High accuracy, discipline, and commitment to meeting deadlines.
