Job Accountabilities This position requires understanding and integrating multiple fossil group data to interpret the age and environment of deposition. Synthesize biostratigraphic data with seismic data to build basin scale or sub-basin scale stratigraphic framework. The candidate has to interact and provide biostratigraphic inputs to relevant stakeholders. As a member of the exploration team, the person should adapt in a collaborative environment and deliver geoscientific analysis to other business units/operational assets. Deep understanding of microfossil/nannofossils/palynology is required. Prepare biostratigraphic analysis scheme for various microfossil groups. QC of biostratigraphic reports prepared by external vendors. Provide biostratigraphic inputs for wells/ seismic stratigraphic correlations. Real time biostratigraphic analysis to provide fast inputs to well drilling decisions. Skill & Competencies Thorough understanding about multiple fossil groups preferably foraminifera, nannofossils, palynofossils etc. Interpretation of age and environment of deposition using various fossil groups. Identification of common fossil groups under microscope. Expertise and understanding in planktonic foraminifer taxonomy, benthic foraminifer ecology and calcareous nannofossil taxonomy. Adept at analyzing diverse samples (well cuttings, cores, outcrops, residue, thin sections) using microscopy - a core part of daily routine with a proven track record of high productivity. Ability to integrate biostratigraphy data with sedimentology, geochemistry, seismic and tectonic data. Working experience in software like Stratabug and Coreldraw. Desired knowledge in Sequence Stratigraphy and Chemostratigraphy. Petroleum System Geochemist This role is for an early to mid-career petroleum geochemist to work alongside earth scientists and petroleum engineers to assess petroleum source rock presence, quality, and quantity. The position also involves characterizing and predicting hydrocarbon fluid phase and composition through integrated geochemical data analysis and interpretation. The insights gained will support exploration, asset development, and field optimization decisions. Responsibilities: Provide geochemistry expertise for exploration and development projects, including regional and prospect-scale assessments. Support well operations during exploration and development phases by analyzing geochemical data. Collaborate with internal and external laboratories to collect, process, and interpret geochemical data. Integrate geochemical findings with other subsurface datasets and present results for project reviews. Participate in research and technology development projects and contribute to knowledge-sharing through training sessions when needed. Travel to business units or third-party locations for consultations and technical work, as required. Work in cross-functional teams under tight timelines to deliver creative solutions across multiple projects. Required Qualifications: Masters or Ph.D. in Geochemistry or a related Geology sub-discipline with a focus on geochemistry. Strong background in sedimentology and organic chemistry. Solid understanding of petroleum source rock development in sedimentary basins, including oil and gas generation, migration, and alteration processes. Experience in analyzing and interpreting geochemical data in at least two of the following areas: Source rock evaluation (TOC, Rock-Eval, vitrinite reflectance, etc.). Gas data analysis (composition and isotopic data for hydrocarbon and non-hydrocarbon gases). Oil geochemistry data (API gravity, GOR, sulfur content, biomarkers, and isotopic composition). Ability to integrate geochemical data with geological and engineering datasets such as petrophysical data, seismic data, and PVT data. Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, think analytically, and apply learnings effectively. Strong collaboration skills with a proven ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
