Security Engineer

Project Overview

• Client:

  A global retail organization

• Scope:

  Security migration from Akamai to Cloudflare (WAAP/WAF only)

• Duration:

  6 months (with potential for extension)

• Migration Completion Goal:

  End of June 2025

• Post-Migration Activities:

  Tuning and refining WAAP/WAF configurations

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a subject matter expert in

  Akamai and Cloudflare WAF/WAAP

  configuration and implementation.

• Support the

  migration of security components

  from Akamai to Cloudflare within the set deadline.

• Leverage

  Terraform

  (Infrastructure as Code) for security rule deployment and environment automation.

• Use

  GitHub

  to manage version control and collaborate effectively with development/security teams.

• Optimize and refine security rules in the post-migration phase to ensure best-in-class protection.

• Communicate effectively with stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

Required Skills and Experience

• 3 4+ years

  of proven experience in

  application layer security

  , with deep knowledge of

  Akamai and Cloudflare WAAP/WAF

  solutions.

• Strong hands-on experience with

  Terraform (IaC)

  and

  GitHub

  .

• Demonstrated experience working on

  enterprise-scale migration projects

  .

• Ability to work

  independently and proactively

  , managing deliverables within tight deadlines.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Location

• Candidates

  based in or around Bangalore

  are strongly preferred.

• Hybrid or remote working flexibility can be offered for highly qualified candidates.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with large retail or e-commerce environments.

• Experience in security operations or DevSecOps roles.
