Role:

Senior QA Engineer (SDET)

Automation is the core expectation, with manual testing used where automation is not feasible.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and execute

  automated and manual tests

  for

  APIs, web applications, and event-driven systems

  .
• Perform

  functional, integration, regression, and performance testing

  for

  Java-based applications

  .
• Review and analyze

  business requirements, technical specifications, and architecture diagrams

  to derive effective test coverage.
• Validate system behavior against

  security, compliance, and regulatory standards

  , especially in financial systems.
• Create and maintain

  test cases, test data, and test execution reports

  .
• Identify, document, and track defects through closure with clear impact analysis.
• Collaborate with

  Developers and DevOps teams

  to integrate automated tests into

  CI/CD pipelines.

• Actively contribute to improving test strategy, coverage, and overall product quality.
  

Required Skills:

• Java

  Strong hands-on coding experience for test automation.

• UI Automation

  Selenium WebDriver with Java for functional and regression testing.

• API Testing

  – REST API testing using tools such as

  Postman, Swagger, or similar

  ; ability to read and interpret Swagger/OpenAPI documentation.

• Test Design

  – Creation and maintenance of comprehensive test cases and test data.

• Defect Management

  – Experience identifying, documenting, and tracking defects using standard QA tools.

• CI/CD Exposure

  – Experience collaborating with DevOps to integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines.

• Critical Thinking

  – Ability to challenge assumptions, validate requirements, and align testing with business and technical risk.

• Communication & Collaboration

  – Clear articulation of defects, test results, and metrics; strong collaboration with Development, DevOps, and Product teams.
• Proactive mindset with strong ownership of quality outcomes.
  

Preferred Skills:

• Experience testing

  financial, banking, or other regulated systems

• Exposure to

  event-driven or microservices architectures

  .
• Familiarity with performance or security testing concepts.
