Job Description

You are sought after to fulfill the pivotal role of a Scrum Master & Offshore Project Coordinator at UST. Your primary responsibility will be to spearhead agile delivery within a vibrant and geographically dispersed IT team. This entails providing crucial support to the core data engineering scrum team while synchronizing efforts with various delivery units such as QA, DevOps, Tech BAs, and Data Analysts. Collaboration with the onshore Project Manager and Client Tech BAs is imperative to ensure timely and quality-focused project execution in a multi-vendor, offshore-onshore setup. Your key responsibilities as a Scrum Master encompass facilitating essential Agile ceremonies like Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Reviews, and Retrospectives. You will guide the development team on Agile/Scrum best practices, nurturing a culture of continuous improvement. Tracking and managing sprint progress, velocity, burn-down, and resolving blockers will be part of your routine. Collaborating with the Product Owner and Tech BA to refine and manage backlogs and sprint goals is vital. Utilizing Agile metrics to pinpoint inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and quality issues, leading data-informed retrospectives, and implementing performance dashboards are also essential tasks. Proactively managing sprint risks related to timeline, scope, or deliverables is crucial for successful project completion. In your capacity as a Project Coordinator, you will coordinate delivery activities across the offshore team, aligning them with business and IT objectives. Interacting with cross-functional teams, including other Scrum teams, QA, and DevOps, will be part of your role. Monitoring and ensuring timely offshore deliverables, managing dependencies and risks, tracking project action items, delivery timelines, and supporting release planning are key aspects of your duties. Reporting on offshore team progress and escalating issues when necessary are integral to project success. Your role demands seamless stakeholder and cross-team collaboration. Acting as the primary intermediary between the offshore team and the onshore Project Manager, you will facilitate smooth communication between the two teams to ensure aligned expectations. Providing regular updates on status, sprint metrics, and delivery milestones to stakeholders, supporting scope/timeline adjustments, and aiding issue resolution in collaboration with Tech BAs and Product Owners are essential for effective project management. To excel in this position, you must possess at least 6 years of experience in IT project delivery, including a minimum of 2 years as a Scrum Master. Demonstrated proficiency in handling multi-vendor, distributed agile teams, solid knowledge of Agile/Scrum frameworks and associated delivery metrics, exposure to DevOps practices, and managing data-oriented projects are prerequisites. Proficiency in tools like Jira, Confluence, and familiarity with Snowflake is advantageous. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and hands-on experience in offshore-onshore collaboration are key skills required. Your educational background should include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification is mandatory, while PMP or Agile PM certifications are preferred. Soft skills like proactive problem-solving, a servant-leader approach, adaptability, cultural awareness, time management, and remote collaboration skills are highly valued.
