Job Description

As a Scrum Master at UnitedHealth Group collaborating with Optum, your role involves guiding development teams in adopting and implementing agile principles and practices. You will act as a servant leader and coach, facilitating Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure adherence to the Scrum framework. Collaborating with product owners, business stakeholders, and development teams, you will define project goals, scope, and backlog items to deliver value to business customers. Your responsibilities will include fostering a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements to boost team productivity and delivery efficiency. Effective communication and collaboration within and across teams will be crucial for ensuring clear understanding of project priorities, timelines, and dependencies. Additionally, you will facilitate conflict resolution, help teams make decisions, and monitor project progress to ensure sprint goals are met while identifying and mitigating risks and issues that may impact delivery. Key Responsibilities: - Act as a servant leader and coach to guide development teams in adopting agile principles - Facilitate Agile ceremonies and ensure adherence to the Scrum framework - Collaborate with stakeholders to define project goals, scope, and backlog items - Foster a culture of continuous improvement and implement process enhancements - Promote effective communication and collaboration within and across teams - Monitor project progress, track sprint goals, and identify/mitigate risks and issues - Collaborate with other Scrum Masters and Agile coaches for continuous improvement In addition to your role as a Scrum Master, you will also be involved in Project Management tasks such as developing and implementing project communication plans, managing communications among stakeholders, and analyzing project progress to identify risks and issues. You will develop and monitor risk or issue logs, ensure resolution of identified risks and issues, and implement contingency plans when needed. Qualifications Required: - Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience - 3+ years in a Scrum Master role - 3+ years of IT Project Management experience - Experience in leading and coaching teams, promoting collaboration, and fostering a continuous learning mindset - Basic understanding of development environments, testing processes, deployment processes, and coding practices - Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, organizational, communication, and facilitation skills - Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools, and proven leadership abilities Preferred Qualification: - CSM/PMP certification or equivalent Join UnitedHealth Group and Optum to make an impact on global health optimization by caring, connecting, and growing together.,
