Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Procurement & Order Managementa. Raise RFQs, PRs, and POs as per project requirements and ensure order acknowledgment by suppliers.b. Source and onboard alternate/backup vendors to reduce dependency on limited suppliers.c. Prioritize multiple procurement requests and ensure timely processing based on project urgency.d. Track procurement milestones from PR to delivery and update internal stakeholders accordingly.

2. Supplier Coordination & Follow-ups
a. Daily follow-up with suppliers (calls, emails, visits) to track order status and resolve delays.b. Escalate supplier issues proactively to management and facilitate alternative actions if needed.c. Ensure documentation completeness for each order (PO, GRN, invoices, etc.).d. Close POs upon complete material receipt and invoice settlement.

3. Vendor Management
a. Maintain accurate vendor records and assess performance (delivery, quality, responsiveness).b. Conduct routine performance reviews and support supplier audits.c. Coordinate closure of SCARs and RCA actions related to supplier issues.d. Support contract renewal, agreement finalization, and adherence to SLAs.

4. Logistics Coordination
a. Plan and organize local and inter-site transportation for raw materials and finished goods.b. Liaise with transport vendors for timely pickup and delivery of materials.c. Prepare and manage delivery challans, e-way bills, and other logistics documentation.d. Ensure alignment of transport activities with project site needs and timelines.5. Long Lead Item Supporta. Identify long lead items and track them with high priority throughout the lifecycle.b. Visit supplier premises (as needed) to monitor progress and remove roadblocks.c. Collaborate with quality and project teams during inspection or dispatch phases.

6. Reporting & Documentation
a. Maintain complete procurement and logistics records for audit readiness.b. Provide daily/weekly updates to the SCM Manager on pending POs, vendor delays, and risks.c. Prepare material status reports, delivery schedules, and supplier engagement logs.

 

 

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experiencea. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field.b. 2-4 years of experience in procurement and logistics in a project-based or criticalindustry.c. Strong communication, negotiation, and coordination skills.d. Proficient in MS Excel, ERP, and supply chain documentation.e. Ability to multitask under pressure and travel to supplier/vendor locations whenrequired.f. Working knowledge of tax and transport compliance (DCs, e-way bills, etc.)2. Key Competenciesa. Strong sense of ownership and accountability.b. Hands-on, field-oriented mindset.c. Familiarity with project-based SCM workflows and urgent procurement scenarios.d. Comfortable in dealing with ambiguity and coordinating across functions.
