Job Description

Role Overview: As a Scientist at USP, you will play a crucial role in conducting analytical tests on Verification samples (Dietary supplements/Dietary Ingredients) using suitable methods. Your expertise will enhance the laboratory's scientific proficiency and work ethic by providing technical support and knowledge. You will be proficient in various laboratory techniques and capable of offering valuable observations and insights into challenging projects. Your responsibilities will include executing analytical tests, preparing summary reports, and contributing to the Verification Program. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct verification projects on Dietary Supplements/Dietary Ingredients by performing analytical tests such as HPLC, GC, Dissolution, ICP-MS, ICP-OES, and wet analysis as assigned - Complete projects within designated timelines and priorities - Demonstrate a robust scientific approach to laboratory analysis - Utilize personal experience, academic training, and technical insights to address complex technical issues - Compile project reports, respond to QA observations, and minimize errors in testing and data analysis - Commit to continuous learning and propose new approaches to enhance laboratory operations - Ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and safety systems - Maintain equipment calibration, coordinate procurement of necessary items, and adhere to US Pharmacopeia (USP) mission and procedures - Cultivate positive relationships with various departments and support certification/recertification processes Qualification Required: - Master's degree in pharmacy or Analytical chemistry - 1 to 3 years of relevant laboratory experience - Previous engagement in pharmaceutical manufacturing QC laboratory or contract pharmaceutical analytical testing laboratory - Expertise in HPLC operation using Empower software and proficiency in dissolution analysis Additional Details about USP: USP values inclusive scientific collaboration and strives to attract diverse expertise to develop trusted public health standards.
