The Production Associate supports the production and delivery of exhibitions at Science Gallery Bengaluru (SGB). In its full capacity, SGB presents one themed exhibition-season annually, alongside pop-up shows and a range of public engagement programmes that require varying degrees of production support. Each season is accompanied by public events, learning programmes, and publications. The Production Associate is expected to assist with scheduling, logistics, and vendor coordination while bringing strong technical capability to the role. They will work hands-on with AV systems (projectors, sound, sensors), interactive technologies (TouchDesigner, Processing, Python/p5.js), and exhibition graphics, ensuring smooth installation, troubleshooting, and operational support. The role requires collaboration with exhibition and graphic designers, sound and light designers, researchers, artists, and other internal teams to deliver high-quality, technology-led exhibitions and experiences for SGB s core audience of 18 30-year-olds. Key Responsibilities Lead the technical planning, setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of technology-driven exhibitions including AV systems (projectors, media players, speakers, mixers, sensors), creative coding environments (TouchDesigner / Python /Processing / p5.js), and interactive hardware Coordinate the design and production of exhibition graphics and print material in collaboration with the design team, with working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite /CorelDRAW Oversee end-to-end execution of in-house, partner-led, and travelling exhibitions from artist shortlisting and development to contracts, production, installation, and deinstallation Manage logistics, shipping, technical documentation, risk, insurance, and sustainability plans for all exhibits Liaise with artists, vendors, technicians, and internal teams (design, programmes, finance, communications, development) to ensure smooth delivery of exhibitions and related events Supervise on-floor production teams (fabricators, technicians, electricians, carpenters) to ensure timely, high-quality build and execution Support fundraising, merchandising, and publicity by providing data, materials, and production support as required Maintain accurate financial records, oversee payments, and manage project budgets over the course of the exhibition cycle Person Specifications We are looking for a candidate who brings strong technical and digital fluency to complement our existing exhibition production skillset. The ideal person should have: Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and CorelDRAW for print and exhibition graphics Familiarity with audio software such as Reaper and an understanding of basic sound editing and signal flow Experience working with TouchDesigner and/or basic proficiency in Python / Processing / PJ5s (creative coding tools) Ability to troubleshoot and support AV setups, including projectors, media players, speakers, mixers, sensors, and related equipment Understanding of basic circuit and lighting design, with the ability to interface with vendors/technicians for more complex requirements Comfort working at the intersection of code, hardware and design for interactive and technology-led exhibits 3-5 years of experience in exhibition production (or film production at a comparable scale) in a museum or cultural institution A post-graduate degree in arts management/museum studies is desirable but not a qualifying condition

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Head of Exhibition and Programmes is a strategic and creative leader responsible for conceiving, planning, and supervising impactful exhibitions, public programmes, and learning initiatives. This role plays a critical part in shaping Science Gallery Bengaluru s interdisciplinary approach, driving engagement with young adults and broader communities through innovative and inclusive science-art experiences. Key Responsibilities. 1/ Exhibitions Lead strategic planning for interdisciplinary exhibition-seasons, which include art- science exhibits, public programmes, and mentorship initiatives for young adults. Manage full lifecycle of exhibitions:conceptualising , budgeting, production, installation, and post-exhibition evaluation Foster collaborations with artists, scientists, research institutions, and cultural hubs, both in India and across the world. Ensure excellence in execution, prioritizing intellectual rigor, accessibility, and best practices for public engagement and operational compliances Evaluate audience impact, integrating feedback into future exhibition design 2/ Public Programmes Design and supervise events lectures, performances, workshops, festivals that stimulate public engagement and research Engage communities actively, inviting collaboration and co-creation with youth, educators, researchers, and cultural practitioners Foster partnerships across research institutions, academia, and public sector organizations Promote inclusion and diversity in programming content and delivery 3/ Learning & Education Develop and supervise learning strategy for SGB s mentorship initiatives and learning programmes Oversee the development of SGB s Learning Resources: Activity Handbooks, Open Courseware, Exhibition-in-a-Box. Establish and maintain relationships with government bodies, educational institutions, and other partners who support the dissemination of SGB s Learning Resources. Lead Impact Measurement Reporting: Design and implement systems to track programmatic impact and generate detailed reports using qualitative and quantitative metrics, ensuring transparency, accountability, and alignment with organizational goals. Oversee Exhibition Delivery: Manage cross-functional teams to ensure timely and effective delivery of exhibitions and public programs, including production timelines, resource allocation, and stakeholder coordination. In collaboration with the Communications and Programmes teams, the Design Intern will assist with the following: Editing of video and photo content for Science Gallery Bengaluru s exhibitions and programmes Script, assemble, and edit video projects using new and archived footage Collate and creatively repurpose existing multimedia assets from past exhibitions and programmes Support video/photo documentation as needed, including filming when required Coordinate and manage external photographers, videographers, and production houses Contribute to SGB s audio-visual programming and content strategy Person Specifications Strong editing skills; working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro or other equivalent editing software is essential Proficiency in operating photo and video equipment, lights, and accessories (e.g., gimbals) Familiarity with organising and managing large multimedia archives Interest in science, technology, and arts/culture spaces Excellent storytelling, communication skills, and attention to detail aligned with SGB s ethos Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines Knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign, and Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) desirable Experience working with a production house is an advantage this role prioritises editing but requires capability in documentation as well
