Job Summary:

The School Counsellor plays a vital role in supporting the emotional, social, and mental well-being of students across all age groups and needs. This role involves collaborating with educators, families, and external professionals to foster a safe, inclusive, and growth-oriented school culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counselling to students with academic, behavioral, emotional, and social challenges.
  • Support inclusion by developing intervention plans and strategies tailored to diverse learning profiles, including neurodivergent students and those with special educational needs.
  • Conduct assessments and maintain records to track student progress and areas of concern.
  • Assist in crisis management, conflict resolution, and child protection protocols.
  • Design and deliver life skills and well-being programs that promote emotional literacy, resilience, and positive peer relationships.
  • Work closely with teachers, special educators, and therapists to implement IEP (Individualized Education Plans) and behavioral support plans.
  • Provide guidance and psychoeducation to parents and caregivers.
  • Collaborate with community mental health professionals when external referrals are needed.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Psychology / Counselling / Clinical Psychology / Social Work or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of child development, behavior management, and inclusive practices.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, ethical standards, and a non-judgmental approach.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Proficiency in local languages (Kannada preferred).
  • Certification in child counselling, play therapy, or related areas is an advantage.
  • Compassionate, adaptable, and team-oriented mindset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹17,259.67 - ₹36,923.47 per month
